5 Years of Pride, Our First Float, & Pathak Registration Open!

नमस्कार मंडळी,

अत्यंत आनंदाने आणि अभिमानाने आम्ही तुम्हाला सांगू इच्छितो की, सलग पाचव्या वर्षी कॅल्गरी मराठी असोसिएशनला (CMA) जगातील सर्वात मोठ्या ‘कॅल्गरी स्टॅम्पीड परेड’ मध्ये आपल्या मातृभूमीचे – भारताचे प्रतिनिधित्व करण्याची अधिकृत संधी मिळाली आहे!
गेल्या चार वर्षांचा आपला प्रवास थक्क करणारा राहिला आहे:

• २०२२: आपण ढोल-ताशा, लेझीम आणि टाळांच्या गजराने ३,५०,००० प्रेक्षकांची मने जिंकली.
• २०२३: विठूरायाची पालखी, वारी आणि भारतातील विविध प्रांतांच्या पारंपरिक वेशभूषेतून विविधतेचे दर्शन घडवले.
• २०२४: विविध भारतीय नृत्यांचा समावेश करत आपण प्रतिष्ठेचा ‘Fan Favorite Award’ पटकावला!
• २०२५: ऐतिहासिक भारतीय राजे-राण्यांच्या दिमाखदार घोडागाडीने (Wagon) सर्वांचे लक्ष वेधून घेत आपण द्वितीय क्रमांक मिळवला.

यंदा आपण एक ऐतिहासिक झेप घेत आहोत – आपला पहिला चित्ररथ (Float)!
२०२५ मध्ये आपल्या सर्व सभासदांनी एकमताने दिलेल्या पाठिंब्यामुळे, यावर्षी आपण कॅल्गरी स्टॅम्पीड परेडमध्ये आपला स्वतःचा १२ फुटी भव्य चित्ररथ उतरवणार आहोत!
आपल्या सर्वांच्या संकल्पनांतून आपण “हिमालयाकडून रॉकीजकडे” (From Himalayas to Rockies) ही थीम निश्चित केली आहे. हा चित्ररथ कॅनडा आणि भारत यांच्यातील साम्य अतिशय रंजक पद्धतीने मांडेल. 
या चित्ररथाची अंतिम पहिली झलक थेट ३ जुलै २०२६ रोजी स्टॅम्पीड परेडमध्येच पाहायला मिळेल!

दरवर्षीप्रमाणे, यंदाही आपण आपल्या सभासदांना या जागतिक स्तरावरील परेडचा आणि वर्षभरातील इतर कार्यक्रमांचा भाग होण्याची सुवर्णसंधी देत आहोत.

• ढोल-ताशा पथक नोंदणी (सर्व कार्यक्रमांसाठी): वर्षातील सर्व विविध सार्वजनिक कार्यक्रमांत सादरीकरण करण्यासाठी पथकाची दारे सर्व सभासदांसाठी खुली आहेत.

• स्टॅम्पीड परेड २०२६ विशेष टीप: चित्ररथाच्या आकारामुळे यंदा मुख्य स्टॅम्पीड परेडच्या दिवशी चालणाऱ्या पथकासाठी जागा अत्यंत मर्यादित आहेत. या विशिष्ट परेडसाठीची नोंदणी क्षमता संपताच फॉर्म बंद केला जाईल (वेटलिस्टसह).

नोंदणीचे महत्त्वाचे नियम:

• सभासदत्व सक्तीचे: ढोल-ताशा पथकात आणि कॅल्गरी स्टॅम्पीड परेड मध्ये सामील होण्यासाठी CMA चे २०२६ चे सभासदत्व अनिवार्य आहे. (सभासद होण्यासाठी भेट द्या: https://www.cmacalgary.ca/)
• अंतिम निवड प्रक्रिया: स्टॅम्पीड परेडसाठीची अंतिम निवड ही तुमची कौशल्ये, शारीरिक क्षमता (Stamina), सरावातील नियमितता आणि तुमची बांधिलकी यावर आधारित असेल.
• शारीरिक क्षमता (Endurance): परेडमध्ये ५ किलोमीटर चालणे, परेड सुरू होण्यापूर्वी ३+ तास उभे राहणे आणि बदलत्या हवामानाला सामोरे जाण्याची तयारी असणे आवश्यक आहे.

चला तर मग, आपल्या संस्कृतीचा हा सोनेरी वारसा आणि कॅनडा-भारताची मैत्री साजरी करण्यासाठी सज्ज होऊया!

For over 40 years, the Calgary Marathi Association (CMA), with your invaluable support, has successfully preserved and promoted our rich heritage. Today, we are absolutely thrilled and honored to announce that for the 5th consecutive year, CMA has received approval to represent our Matrubhumi, India, at The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth—the Calgary Stampede Parade!
Our journey over the past four years has been nothing short of spectacular, from our first Dhol Taasha beats in 2022 and the Palkhi Wari in 2023, to winning the Fan Favourite Award in 2024 and securing 2nd Prize for our Royal Wagon entry in 2025 when we collaborated with other organizations of Indian Heritage.
For 2026, we are taking our biggest leap yet: Building Our First-Ever Float!
Thanks to the unanimous support of our members, CMA is proudly building a custom 12-foot-tall Parade Float!
Our locked-in theme is “From Himalayas to Rockies.” This push-float is a brilliant, visual celebration highlighting the beautiful similarities between our two cultures.

We are keeping the final look under wraps—it will be exclusively revealed to the world on the parade route on July 3rd, 2026!

Important Guidelines for Participation:

• Mandatory Membership: Only active CMA Members in good standing can join the Dhol Taasha Pathak and the Stampede Parade troupe. To purchase or renew your membership, visit: https://www.cmacalgary.ca/
• Selection Criteria: Final selection for the Stampede Parade Troupe will be strictly based on performance skill set, stamina, endurance, commitment, and attendance at all practice sessions.
• Physical Endurance: Participants must be prepared for a 5 km walk, up to 3 hours of wait time at the staging grounds (with no seating), and resilience to changing weather conditions.
